How to: Create a chart for cells that are nonadjacent in a worksheet.
Solution:
Select a group; press and hold CTRL to select more. Select 'Insert'; select 'Chart'.
To create a chart for nonadjacent cells:
1) Open the desired workbook.
2) Click the tab for the worksheet that contains the desired data.
3) Select the first group of data to chart.
4) Press and hold down CTRL while selecting additional groups of data to chart. (The selected cells are highlighted.)
5) Select the 'Insert' menu and select 'Chart'. (A submenu appears.)
6) Do one of the following:
a) Embed the chart on the worksheet.
1] Select 'On This Sheet' from the submenu. (The pointer changes to a plus sign with a tiny column chart.)
2] Draw the area where the chart should appear on the worksheet.
a] Place the pointer on one corner of the desired area.
b] Press and hold down the mouse button.
c] Drag the pointer to draw the size of the chart area.
d] Release the mouse button when the desired size is reached. (The ChartWizard - Step 1 of 5 dialog box appears.)

NOTE: The range in the 'Range' box defaults to the data selected in Step 3).
b) Create a separate chart sheet:
1] Select 'As New Sheet'. (The ChartWizard - Step 1 of 5 dialog box appears.)
NOTE: The range in the 'Range' box defaults to the data selected in Step 3).
7) Click 'Next'. (The ChartWizard - Step 2 of 5 dialog box appears.)

8) Select the desired chart type from the 'Select a chart type' box.
9) Click 'Next'. (The ChartWizard - Step 3 of 5 dialog box appears.)

10) Select the desired format for the chart from the 'Select a format for the <x> chart' box, where <x> stands for the type of chart selected in Step 9).
11) Click 'Next'. (The ChartWizard - Step 4 of 5 dialog box appears with a sample chart that uses the selected data.)

12) Make sure that the sample chart correctly presents the selected data.
13) (Optional) To change the data presentation, do one or more of the following:
a) Change to the other option in the 'Data Series in' group.
b) Specify the row containing the text to use as the X-axis labels in the 'Category (X)' box.
c) Specify the column containing the text to use as the Y-axis labels in the 'Value (Y)' box.
14) Click 'Next'. (The ChartWizard - Step 5 of 5 dialog box appears.)

NOTE: The sample chart in this dialog box incorporates any changes made in the previous dialog box.
15) (Optional) Specify whether to add a legend to the chart in the 'Add a Legend?' group.
NOTE: Any additions or changes made in the dialog box are immediately reflected in the sample chart.
16) (Optional) Type a title for the chart in the 'Chart Title' box.
17) (Optional) Type a title for the X-axis in the 'Category (X)' box of the 'Axis Titles' group.
18) (Optional) Type a title for the Y-axis in the 'Value (Y)' box of the 'Axis Titles' group.
19) Click 'Finish'.
NOTE: Depending on the selection made in Step 6), a chart appears in the worksheet or in a separate chart sheet.
20) (Optional) Resize the chart as desired.
